Understanding Bandwidth Types
- HTTP: Website traffic (most common)
- FTP: File uploads/downloads
- Email: Sending/receiving emails
- POP3/IMAP: Email client connections
Reducing Bandwidth Usage
If approaching limits:
- Optimize and compress images
- Enable caching
- Use a CDN for static files
- Remove unused media files
- Block hotlinking (others linking to your images)
- Limit video/audio streaming
- Upgrade to higher plan if needed
Bandwidth Overage
What happens if you exceed limits:
- Some plans: Site temporarily suspended until next billing cycle
- Some plans: Automatic overage charges
- Some plans: Unlimited bandwidth (fair use policy applies)
Check your plan details or contact support for specifics.
