Using cPanel File Manager

File Manager lets you manage website files directly in your browser without FTP software.

Accessing File Manager

1. Log into cPanel
2. Go to Files > File Manager
3. Navigate to public_html (your website root)

Common Tasks

Upload Files

1. Navigate to desired folder
2. Click Upload button
3. Drag files or click "Select File"
4. Wait for upload to complete

Create New File

1. Click + File button
2. Enter filename (e.g., index.html)
3. Click Create New File
4. Right-click file and select Edit to add content

Create New Folder

1. Click + Folder
2. Enter folder name
3. Click Create New Folder

Extract ZIP Files

1. Upload ZIP file
2. Right-click the ZIP
3. Select Extract
4. Choose destination and click Extract Files

Download Files

1. Select file(s)
2. Click Download
3. File saves to your computer

Tips

• Use Settings (top right) to show hidden files like .htaccess
• Right-click for context menu with all options
• Select multiple files with Ctrl+Click (Cmd+Click on Mac)
